Lesson 6 - Brewing Product Water Final Treatment
This lesson deals with the various physical and chemical procedures that we can use to treat all water supplied to the brewery. It also examines the processes used to make water potable (if the water supplied to the brewery is not already potable).
We will also explore all additional treatment processes that we can use to prepare water to the correct quality specifications, making it fit for use as brewing product water.
Preface
The water that has been treated and made potable before reaching the brewery, is now available for brewing. However, the water may still not be suitable for our requirements. It may be too hard, have high alkalinity, or the incorrect ratio of minerals. It could also contain free chlorine.
In this lesson, we will look at the water treatment options available for a brewery to use to turn potable water into product water, with the required mineral composition. We also cover the removal of microbes from water.
