Lesson 6 - Maintenance
This lesson discusses the necessary components of a successful brewery maintenance programme and provides details on approach, implementation, execution, and business-level relationships.
Point of Reflection - Reconvene
Welcome back. So, what were your thoughts? Below are some examples you might have also considered.
Breakdown – when your bedroom lightbulb burns out, you replace it with a new one. In this case, the other triggers would lead you to pre-emptively replace a perfectly good, working bulb (which is not a good use of your time or money!).
Time – every six months, it is advised that we change the batteries in our smoke detectors to guarantee that the sensor will work when we need it most.
Usage – your car manual will have recommendations based on mileage for when to schedule an oil change.
Event – high winds have resulted in significant movement in your garden fence which could result in collapse. Tensioning of the supports or fastenings is required.
Condition – the kitchen sink has developed a slow drip and requires a new cartridge.
Now that we understand the maintenance triggers, we will now explore how we use them to complement and inform the four main maintenance approaches.
