Lesson 6 - Maintenance
This lesson discusses the necessary components of a successful brewery maintenance programme and provides details on approach, implementation, execution, and business-level relationships.
Preface
Whilst well-executed brewery maintenance is often not the first thought you have when enjoying a beer, it is one of the foundational elements to a product’s success. So much care and thought goes into the development of a brand and its recipe. However, maintenance, just like other non-operational functions such as quality and safety, is also an integral part of creating a world-class product.
In this lesson we will learn the importance of establishing a clear and well-defined approach to brewery maintenance and will see how this approach can adapt as a brewery evolves. We will outline the key elements and responsibilities involved in the development, staffing, and execution of maintenance. Lastly, we will discuss how maintenance plays a significant role in the overall success of a brewery by building strong intra-company relationships.
