Lesson 6 - Process Aids and Additions
This lesson discusses the function of process aids and how they improve colloidal stability. It also explores filter aids, post-fermentation additions, and the use of deaerated water as tools to enable a brewer to meet their final pack beer quality specifications.
Post-Fermentation Additions and Late Stage Differentiation
Post-fermentation additions can be added at either the maturation or the filtration stage to either correct parameters that have drifted out of specification during the process, or those that we have added as part of the brand recipe, to enhance the end product.
Let us explore which additions are made and their impact on the overall beer quality.
