Suggested Response - Q6

** Your CIP tank (or scavenge tank) is giving an inaccurate level measurement. It is currently fitted with an ultrasonic level transmitter.

a)    Recommend the steps that should be taken to fix this problem.

b)    How would this be different if it was a bright beer tank and if this was your final product handover to packaging?

Response:

a)    Use a level transmitter that is not affected by foam. As this is a CIP tank, the level of accuracy is not critical and so a pressure transmitter would be a good choice, as this is more cost effective than the alternatives.

b)    Due to the need for accurate readings, if the level measurement was instead on a bright beer tank, a radar level transmitter would be preferable.
