Lesson 7 - Process Control Mechanisms SAQ
This lesson allows you to test yourself on the material covered in the Process Control Mechanisms lesson and determine the level to which you have met the learning outcomes.
Suggested Response - Q1
* What is the difference between cascade control and ratio control?
Response:
Cascade control has two control loops. A primary loop controls the process variable that we want to control. The output of this controller is used as a setpoint to a secondary controller, which controls a disturbance to the primary loop.
With ratio control, there is only one control loop. This loop uses the output of an uncontrolled stream to calculate the setpoint for a controlled stream.
