A: No, the new learning material is only available via our learning management system.
Q: What textbooks do you recommend to support the learning material?
A: The CIBD learning material has been written to cover the examination syllabus and should contain most of the information required to be successful in the exam. However, textbooks and further reading links provided in the learning material can help consolidate your learning and enable you to excel. Below is a list of textbooks that may assist you. You are by no means required to purchase these for this course but if you want to buy a textbook, any of these might be a good option.
- Brewing: Science and Practice (Woodhead Publishing Series in Food Science, Technology and Nutrition) Dennis Briggs, Chris Boulton, et al.
- Technology Brewing and Malting (VLB Berlin, 2019) Wolfgang Kunze
- The Comprehensive Guide to Brewing from Raw Material to Packaging (Fachverlag Hans Carl) G Basarova., J Savel et al
- Handbook of Brewing (Wiley-VCH) Edited by Hans Michael Eßlinger
- Handbook of Brewing (CRC Press) Edited by Graham G. Stewart, Inge Russell, Anne Anstruther
Please note: although some of the information contained in the textbooks may help with the exam, not all of their contents is relevant and you should focus on sections pertinent to the learning material. Also, not everything in textbooks is accurate, they often disagree with each other and some contain errors. If what a textbook says is different to what the CIBD learning material says always go with the learning material.
